“You can’t fall if you don’t climb.
But there is no joy in living your whole life on the ground.”
When I saw this quote, I immediately thought of my book, In Pursuit of Clouds (Stories and Lessons Learned from a Life Lived on the Ground). In it, I describe how I’ve led such a careful and responsible life and always watched the ground in front of me, fearful that I would fall. After health issues arose, I resolved to change my focus to above me, in pursuit of clouds. As this quote says, You can’t fall if you don’t climb. To me, that means you have to risk the chance that you will fall, or you miss out on living the total joy that life offers.
Are you living your life on the ground? Are you trying to avoid risk by staying small and still while watching the ground in front of you?
